Why does this keep happening?
Here they are again, those old habits that keep getting in the way of being truly happy. Those automatic behaviors that seem to stop you from being able to connect with others, or maybe push people away.
Sometimes these behaviors feel familiar, other times they’re just a frustrating mystery.
You just know that you can’t quite figure out how to stop doing these things. It makes you wonder “what’s wrong with me?”
Responses that make sense to you
It would be nice to not react automatically to so many things. To be able to have an experience and respond in a way that makes sense to you, and helps you feel connected to yourself and others.
Imagine understanding your old behaviors, seeing them with compassion, and knowing that there really is nothing wrong with you.
Gently letting go of the past and strengthening what helps you now
Together we’ll look at your behaviors, and see how they started out helping you. Understanding why they are there, and seeing that they used to help, makes it easier to let them go and replace them with behaviors that help you in the present.
We will work on ways to help you manage strong emotional reactions like anxiety, depression, or anger, and still be able to stay connected with yourself and others.
And we’ll work on communication skills, with others, and more importantly, with yourself (that inner critic can be brutal!).
You are deserving of self-compassion!
Being able to treat yourself with self-compassion enhances your ability to offer compassion and empathy to others. Having a healthy, nourishing, relationship with yourself is essential to having healthy, nourishing relationships with others.
Enough time to feel seen, heard, understood, and not feel rushed
After more than a decade working in mental health clinics, I saw how often a 50 minute session just wasn’t enough time. When I opened my own practice I made a choice to schedule 90 minute sessions. I don’t want you to feel rushed. I want you to have enough time to arrive, to settle and “be here”, and feel seen, heard, and understood.
Individual sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes and cost $110.00.
I believe that each of us is deserving of being in healthy, nourishing, relationships based on compassion, understanding, and appreciation. And those relationships start within ourselves. If you’d like to stop being stuck in old behaviors, or have a better relationship with yourself, please call or email me to schedule a consultation.
